  • VIDEO JOURNALISM LAB: STREET INTERVIEWING FROM A PRO

    A three session course that takes you through the stages of real-life video journalism practice – from story selection and ethical street interviews to writing a simple script with a professional structure and editing your final piece. 

  • WATCH. PITCH. WRITE: A PRACTICAL WORKSHOP ON FILM CRITICISM AND WRITING

    A three-session workshop that explores the art of film criticism through watching, discussion, writing, editing and publication. 

  • INTERVIEW, PITCH & PUBLISH: ONE TRAINING TWO PACKAGES!

    This practical training comes in two packages (Compact Weekend and Full Package), both focused on two essential professional skills: interviewing and pitching. Over three or five workshops, you'll cover the techniques to prepare for and conduct face-to-face Q&A interviews, and practise selling your material to editors. The full course follows through with one-on-one editing feedback and a final piece.

At BJA, we don’t just teach journalism — we practise it. This academy is built on my 27 years of journalism experience, from war zone to newsrooms. Here you won’t learn “content creation” or “storytelling”. Instead you’ll learn the craft of first-hand, no-nonsense reporting, the only way that works: by doing.

All our courses are hands-on, immersive, and to the point, guided every step of the way by professionals who’ve been there, done that, and continue to do it, because they love it.
